Findings When looking at the current system
used at this plant we see that 5 other operations rely on the accuracy of the
one document that is filled out by people with the least experience.
The errors, that are inevitable, are very common and the only solution is
automating redundant, basic processes. Whether
this program is what is needed or developing a whole new way of collecting and
presenting the information, something should be done to diminish some of the
burden placed on the process of the manual system.
Time consumption is high while output is low. This translates into high
costs to maintain a manual system that does not work well while relying on a
system that does not extract the necessary data to present the information
needed for traceability and analysis. It
is expected, and been proven through pilot trials, that this program does have a
major, positive effect on the 5 operations and the energy expended in the
transactions between them.
